SEPTEMBER 16th-18th, 2021 at 7pm
Created and directed by JULIE MAYO

Nerve Show is a lo-fi operatic landscape. It is a romance with human vulnerability and our complex consciousnesses.

Created in collaboration with five performers, Mayo mobilizes a shared lexicon of sound and gesture. Frequent interruptions and tonal shifts dish up a fluctuating transmission of energy. The heart of Nerve Show is its dynamic interrelationship of mutability and exaggerated impulse. It is a tragicomedy of sorts.

Created and directed by Julie Mayo with performers Justin Cabrillos, Ursula Eagly, Doug LeCours, Eleanor Smith, and Jessie Young contributing movement and sound.
Lighting Designer & Technical Director: Ben Demarest
Costumes by the performers
Recorded music: Tren Brothers “Montana” (used by permission) and Alice Coltrane “Going Home” (traditional)
