Target Margin’s longtime visual collaborator creates a large-scale site specific anamorphic portrait installation in The Connelly Theater. In addition, all of the unique portraits of Stein from this season will be on display.

TMT Artistic Director / founder David Herskovits and visual artist Noah Scalin will share an illustrated history of the visual art and design for Target Margin Theater. From season brochures, to the large-scale installation in The Connolly Theater lobby (on view from May 27 – June 27), this discussion will explore a unique perspective on the what/why/how of communicating theatrical experience to outside the performing space.

The evening will be moderated by Chris Jaehnig founding Director of the Production Design Studio at NYU.

Chris Jaehnig is an Associate Arts Professor and the founding Director of the Production Design Studio. Last year marked the 25th Anniversary of the P&D Studio which is fondly know by most of its alumni as “TechTrack.” For more than twenty years Chris produced the Drama Department Mainstage Season.

Noah Scalin is an artist and activist. He has worked extensively with the downtown NYC theater community – collaborating with a wide range of companies, including Target Margin Theater, Clubbed Thumb, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Epic Theatre Ensemble, The Foundry Theater, Ma-Yi Theater Company, Page 73 Productions and The Play Company. He has been commissioned to create artwork for many theatrical world premieres including Dark Sisters by Nico Muhly, In Masks Outrageous and Austere by Tennessee Williams, The Passion Play by Sara Ruhl, Spiderman on Broadway, and Beautiful (The Carole King Musical). His work been exhibited in museums internationally including The Mütter Museum in Philadelphia and the International Museum of Surgical Science in Chicago. He is represented by Krause Gallery in NYC.

A special 3-day installation where the visitor can read Stein’s The Making of Americans to TMT Artistic Production John Del Gaudio. Come help us read then come back for the show!
