In our new season, the seers of Target Margin Theater look deep into the heavens and interpret their poetry for all. Our goal has always been to capture the heavenly bodies’ combination of Beauty and Mystery. The glittering night sky inspires us every evening: how gorgeous! How strange! How ancient and how eternally new! If only we could live in a world like that. Friends, that’s the world we seek to build.
This year, we create our own new version of the original American musical, Show Boat. But ours will be new vision, a Show Boat for 2025 that retells the story of America, remembers our difficult history and dreams a brighter future.
That is only the beginning! Every phase of our journey brings us to new orbits. Our Young Artists launch their own explorations in December and May; our Institute Fellows observe new patterns in the heavens; our Sunset Park neighbors bring rich discoveries back to the Here and Now. Throughout the year, we Host a meteor shower of artists, performances, residencies, and Community Cafe gatherings.
