History

Target Margin Theater was founded in 1991 by Artistic Director, David Herskovits.  The theater was created as a venue to develop the pursuit of artistic distortion in a focused way not possible in institutional theaters.  David soon began recruiting artists with similar sensibilities.  Many company members who were involved in Target Margin’s first production, Titus Andronicus, remain TMT members today. The company has earned a reputation as one of the premier presenters of experimental theater in New York City.
Over the course of the past thirteen years, Target Margin Theater has grown steadily.  Our audiences and visibility are up and we have continued to challenge our artistic mission with increasingly diverse programming.
