AJAX, a furious study on humanity

Thursday, February 1 @ 9:30pm & Friday, February 2 @11pm

AJAX, a furious study on humanity, is the third in a series of workshops in which we have explored the nature and effects of war among the individual and social psyche as well as the non-visible injuries caused by war. Taking Sophocles' text as the guiding structure, this Lab is the summary of a work centered on the presence of direct and mediated violence in our culture. Directed by Gisela Cardenas, lighting design by Lucas Krech, dramaturgy by Kelina Gotman. With Jonathan Green, Dustin Helmer, Heather Hollingsworth.

This project was generated as part of Classic Stage Company Summer Lab and continued thanks to the support of Pamela Frost.

Well, fasten your seatbelts, Euripides fans, as we examine how this story of ignoble and unwanted personal sacrifice keeps popping up in all the unusual places, from the National Football League to the 1980s sitcom to the dentist's chair.
